The Lens Through Which Energy Efficiency is Viewed Can Make all the Difference
The value of energy efficiency, as discussed in this Energy Collective article, still takes time and effort to explain. Yet to people in the industry, the value seems apparent and obvious. To help bridge the gap we can look at the value of energy efficiency through several other lenses, including financial, governance, community and planning. For instance, 30% wasted energy (as estimated by EPA), is a financial concern, for sure. At the same time, the leadership needs to make sure the governance of the organization doesn’t allow waste to happen in the first place. By seeking out the corporate responsibility to energy use, we can help communicate the value of energy efficiency.
